We were established in 1996 specifically to manage the UK transport and distribution of food from Italy on behalf of our parent company, Roberto Bucci spa, a global freight forwarding services provider. Based in Italy with offices in Naples, Salerno and Genova, Roberto Bucci spa has long been pre-eminent in transporting food and other goods to West Africa and throughout Europe and is a preferred transport supplier for many of the largest food manufacturers in Italy. The group’s wholly-owned Terminal Flavio Gioia in Naples encompasses over 33,000 square metres, with over 680 metres of quayside loading docks and is specially designed to accommodate the reefer containers essential for the transport of refrigerated foods.
Recent investment
The company has recently made a substantial investment in 45ft containers which are specifically intended for the movement of food industry produce by rail and sea. These food-grade containers can transport pallets of canned vegetables such as tomatoes and peas, cartons of dried foods such as pasta, and crates of bottled beer or soft drinks to the highest standards of hygiene, free from the risk of contamination by previous, non-food loads. There are major environmental benefits with our Rail, Intermodal and Sea services from Italy and the average transit of just 7 days from date of sailing to Felixstowe makes our highly efficient, eco-friendly service difficult to beat.In addition to weekly sailings from the ports of Salerno, Naples and La Spezia to all UK major ports, the company operates road groupage services from Italy to the UK and has a weekly consolidation service from Naples to London, as well as full load containers FCL from the rest of Europe and the World. The company continues to grow and in addition to food produce also moves general, non-hazardous cargo.
